Followers for Pages and profiles are now sold from a single page, following Facebook’s August 2026 move to make followers the one audience metric for both
For more than a decade, Facebook counted its audiences two different ways: personal profiles had followers, while business Pages collected Page Likes. In August 2026, Facebook ended that split, retiring the Page Like as a public metric and moving Pages to the same follower model that profiles use. One metric, one page
The change matters more than it may sound. Under the old system, a business running a Page and a creator building a personal profile had to shop for two different products, with two different names, on two different pages — even though both were ultimately buying the same thing: a bigger audience. With Facebook now displaying a single follower count everywhere, that distinction has disappeared for buyers too.
